Round 6 - Report
The final round of the Virtual Touring Car Series took place at Brands Hatch, and tensions were high as the drivers fought for the championship title. David Ward secured pole position during qualifying with a time of 01:33.6, closely followed by Tobias Kantert in his Hyundai Elantra N TC, just 0.039 seconds behind.
Mark Peck, in his Honda Civic Type R, secured the third position on the grid, 0.305 seconds behind Ward. Frank Pals, driving a Hyundai Veloster N TC, qualified in fourth place, while James Egan in another Hyundai Elantra N TC, completed the top five. Brian Hunter, also driving a Hyundai Elantra N TC, qualified in sixth position, 1.558 seconds behind Ward.
Race 11:
The first race of round 6 saw some dramatic moments and a surprise winner. David Ward, who had been dominating the championship, started from pole position but unfortunately was forced to retire after just 5 laps due to a.
Tobias Kantert took advantage of Ward's misfortune to secure the win, starting from second position on the grid, holding off a strong challenge from Mark Peck, who finished in second place just over 3 seconds behind Kantert.
Chriss Lindenau, who started from seventh position, put in an impressive performance to finish in third place, just over 9 seconds behind Kantert. Frank Pals finished in fourth place in his Hyundai Veloster N TC, followed by James Egan in fifth and Brian Hunter in sixth, both driving the Hyundai Elantra N TC.
The race was 13 laps long and saw some close battles and overtakes throughout the field, with the drivers pushing hard to make up positions. However, it was Kantert who emerged victorious, putting him in position to win the championship in the final race.
Race 12:
In race 12 of the Virtual Touring Car Series at Brands Hatch, David Ward started from pole position and managed to hold onto his lead throughout the race to secure the victory. Mark Peck started from sixth position on the grid but made an impressive charge through the field to finish in second place, just 2.667 seconds behind Ward.
Tobias Kantert, who had won the previous race, started from seventh position but also made his way through the field to finish in third place, just 0.106 seconds behind Peck. Frank Pals finished in fourth place, with Chriss Lindenau in fifth and James Egan in sixth place. Brian Hunter started from second position but finished last, over a minute behind the leader.
The Virtual Touring Car Series concluded with Tobias Kantert taking the championship title with a total of 174 points. David Ward finished as the runner-up with 167 points, closely followed by Mark Peck in third place with 149 points. James Egan and Frank Pals secured the fourth and fifth positions respectively with 136 and 133 points. Brian Hunter, Chriss Lindenau, Jakub Ochmanski, and Alfie Nicholls also had strong performances throughout the season, rounding out the top 10 in the championship standings.
