Round 1 - Report





























The Virtual Touring Car Series kicked off Season 3 at the iconic Brands Hatch circuit, promising an action-packed race day. With a competitive grid featuring some of the best touring car drivers, fans were in for a treat.
Qualifying:
Wojciech Swirydowicz wasted no time in stamping his authority on the field during qualifying, securing pole position with an impressive lap time of 01:32.2. Wayne Douglas followed closely in second place, just 0.426 seconds behind the pole-sitter. Tom Male, Paul Zanettacci, and Tobias Kantert completed the top five, all within half a second of the pole time.
Race 1:
As the lights went out for Race 1, Wojciech Swirydowicz demonstrated his pace, maintaining his lead from start to finish. He controlled the race, leading all 13 laps and securing a dominant victory. Wayne Douglas and Tom Male battled fiercely for the remaining podium positions. Douglas managed to hold on to second place, while Male claimed the final step on the podium.
Paul Zanettacci and Tobias Kantert, who showed great pace in qualifying, finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Mikko Kuitunen impressed with a strong drive from seventh on the grid to finish sixth. However, it wasn't a smooth ride for everyone. Billy Elusiv, who qualified in sixth, dropped down the order to 13th by the end of the race.
The biggest mover of the race was James Egan, who made an astonishing recovery from 10th on the grid to finish seventh. Meanwhile, Sergey Glazkov, Lewis Fergie, and Steven Fendt completed the top nine.
Race 2:
Race 2 saw a partial reverse grid, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. Tom Male, starting from 13th on the grid, put on a stellar performance, claiming victory after a hard-fought battle. He showcased his skill by slicing through the field to take the checkered flag.
Mikko Kuitunen, who started from 10th, also showed his determination, finishing a strong second and proving to be a serious contender in the championship. Sergey Glazkov, who had an impressive Race 1, made his way up the order from second on the grid and secured third place.
Race 1 winner Wojciech Swirydowicz couldn't maintain the momentum in the second race, finishing in 15th place after a challenging outing. Similarly, Milan Pein, who started from pole position, slipped down the order and finished in 14th.
Unfortunately, the race saw a few incidents and retirements. Berker Sezen, Steve Tomsett, Steven Fendt, Sebastian Stangl, and Chriss Lindenau all were unable to complete the race.
Round 1 of the Virtual Touring Car Series Season 3 at Brands Hatch provided intense battles, unexpected surprises, and brilliant performances from the drivers. Wojciech Swirydowicz showed he's a force to be reckoned with. However, the competition is fierce, and with ten races still to come, the championship remains wide open. Fans eagerly await the next round to see which driver will come out on top in this exhilarating virtual motorsport series.
