Round 3 - Report

The third round of the exhilarating Virtual Touring Car Series took place at the historic Monza Circuit, offering a thrilling spectacle of high-speed racing and intense competition.

Qualifying:

As the sun bathed the Monza Circuit in warm light, the qualifying session kicked off with drivers eager to secure their positions on the grid. In a closely contested battle for pole position, Paul Zanettacci claimed the top spot with a blistering lap time of 02:02.7. Right on his tail was Tobias Kantert, a mere 0.046 seconds behind, setting the stage for a nail-biting showdown. The top three was completed by Ernis Urbaitis with a lap time of 02:02.8.

Race 5:

Race 5 unleashed a whirlwind of action as the competitors lined up on the grid, their sights set on victory. Tobias Kantert, starting from the second position, seized the opportunity and powered his way to victory. Behind him, David Ward demonstrated his determination, securing second place. Sergey took the final spot on the podium.

Paul Zanettacci, who had claimed pole position, faced challenges and ended the race in fourth place, trailing by 1.712 seconds. Mikko Kuitunen displayed resilience, advancing from seventh to fifth place. James Egan, despite a three-place penalty, fought valiantly and finished sixth.

Ernis Urbaitis, who had started third, encountered difficulties and finished in seventh place. Darryll Morrison showcased an impressive performance, making up ground to secure eighth place. Damy Herber, Lewis Fergie, and Brian Hunter rounded out the top ten, contributing to the thrilling spectacle of Race 5.

Race 6:

Race 6 intensified the competition as the drivers returned to the track, ready to push their limits once more. Paul Zanettacci, who had shown his speed in qualifying, surged through the field from twelfth position to seize victory. Sergey Glazkov continued to shine, securing second place with a remarkable performance, just 1.168 seconds adrift.

Lewis Fergie, starting from third, showcased exceptional skill and determination, ultimately claiming third place. Tobias Kantert, who had won Race 5, managed to secure fourth place despite starting from fifteenth on the grid. Ernis Urbaitis, James Egan, and Mikko Kuitunen put on a show, finishing fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively.

David Ward, Damy Herber, and Darryll Morrison completed the top ten, adding to the intensity of Race 6. Chriss Lindenau, who started from pole position, faced challenges and secured eleventh place. Milan Pein and Brian Hunter put forth commendable efforts to round out the competitive field.

As the checkered flag waved, the Monza Circuit had witnessed two enthralling races, highlighting the skill, determination, and passion of the Virtual Touring Car Series competitors.
