Virtual Touring Car Series - Season 3, Round 4: Donington Park

Qualifying:

The fourth round of Season 3 of the Virtual Touring Car Series took place at the historic Donington Park circuit. In a thrilling qualifying session, Tobias Kantert claimed pole position with a blistering lap time of 1:37.2, setting an early benchmark for the competition. Paul Zanettacci narrowly missed out on pole, trailing Kantert by a mere 0.171 seconds. Sergey Glazkov and Mikko Kuitunen showcased their skills, securing the third and fourth positions respectively on the grid. The top contenders were separated by only a fraction of a second, promising an exciting race ahead.

Race 7:

As the lights went out for Race 7, it was Paul Zanettacci who capitalized on a strong start from the second position, overtaking Tobias Kantert to seize the lead. Zanettacci demonstrated his mastery over the circuit, maintaining his position throughout the race and crossing the finish line in first place. Kantert, who had started from pole, gave chase but was unable to reclaim the lead, finishing in second place, just over 4 seconds behind the winner.

Lewis Fergie displayed remarkable skill, making his way through the field from the sixth position to secure a third-place finish. Ernis Urbaitis and James Egan rounded off the top five, showcasing their competitive spirit. Sergey Glazkov, who initially started in the third position, unfortunately received a penalty that dropped him down the order, but he managed to salvage a point-scoring finish.

Race 8:

Race 8 brought another exciting chapter to the Donington Park weekend. Sergey Glazkov, determined to make amends for the penalty he received in Race 8, stormed to victory from pole position. Glazkov showcased his prowess by leading every lap of the race. However, it wasn't an easy victory, as he faced stiff competition from Tobias Kantert, who started from 14th on the grid and staged an impressive comeback to finish just 1.695 seconds behind the leader.

Paul Zanettacci, the winner of Race 1, continued to display consistency and skill, securing a third-place finish. James Egan and David Ward also put on a strong performance, finishing in fourth and fifth positions respectively. The action-packed race saw battles throughout the field, with drivers showcasing their determination and pushing their limits.

Championship Standings after Round 4:

After the Donington Park round, the championship battle intensified, with Paul Zanettacci leading the standings with 330 points. James Egan and Sergey Glazkov were in hot pursuit, with 302 and 287 points respectively. The top positions were tightly contested, as Mikko Kuitunen and Lewis Fergie rounded off the top five, each eager to climb higher in the rankings.

The Virtual Touring Car Series continues to provide thrilling racing action, showcasing the skill and determination of these virtual racers.
