Race Report: Virtual Touring Car Series Season 4, Round 4 - Virginia International Raceway
Qualifying:
The fourth round of the Virtual Touring Car Series at Virginia International Raceway started with an intense qualifying session. Platon Kupriyanov set the pace with a blazing time of 01:10.1, securing the pole position. Ayrton Reutemann was mere milliseconds behind, taking the second spot on the grid. The rest of the field was tightly packed, with competitive times ensuring an exciting race day ahead.
Race 7:
As the lights went out, Ayrton Reutemann, starting from the second position, made a lightning-quick start, immediately challenging Kupriyanov. In a thrilling battle, Reutemann managed to edge past Kupriyanov and held onto the lead for 17 laps. Sergey Glazkov and Thomas Dandridge fought hard for the podium positions, with Glazkov finishing second and Dandridge taking the third spot.
Unfortunately, several drivers faced penalties during the race. Hayden Bramley received a 3-place penalty, while Jan Mild received a 6-place penalty. Despite the challenges, the drivers showcased their skill and determination, creating an intense atmosphere on the track.
Race 8:
Race 8 saw a different set of challenges, with Tomas Fernandez taking the lead and holding on for 17 laps. Mikko Kuitunen and Darryll Morrison followed closely, creating an intense battle for the podium spots. Jan Mild, after his penalty in Race 7, showcased a strong comeback, securing the fourth position in Race 8.
Ayrton Reutemann, who had a dominant performance in Race 7, faced a tougher challenge in the second race, finishing fifth. Despite penalties reshuffling the grid, the drivers exhibited exceptional racing skills, overtaking and defending their positions throughout the race.
